The Gruene House is the first LEED registered beach home on the Texas Gulf Coast.

Brenner Design announced today that The Gruene House (pronounced “green”) is the first beach home to be registered as a LEED project by the US Green Building Council (USGBC).  The home is located in the new-urbanist development called Cinnamon Shore in Port Aransas Texas.

Designed by award-winning architect and interior designer, Diana M.H. Brenner, FAIA IIDA LEEP AP, the Gruene house features sustainable elements, products and materials and will be applying for a LEED Gold Rating.

The home will be showcased as part of the 2011 Sustainable Home Tour sponsored by Cinnamon Shore and will showcase energy efficient, recycled, Enerystar, FSC Certified and water saving products and materials.

Project Partners include Turner Construction Management, Contects Green Homes Provider and Gill Nursery Landscape Design.
